Elliot Consulting Services Featured in Entrepreneur Magazine

Tampa, Fla. - July 7, 2008 - Elliot Consulting Services, Inc. (ECS), was recently featured in an article on disaster preparation for small businesses in the July 2008 issue of the country's leading magazine for the small and midsize business community.

"Ready for Anything" featured the story of New Orleans entrepeneurs setting up a business after Hurricane Katrina. The impact of the Katrina disaster taught the business owners that the only way for a business to survive is to prepare for the worst — a disaster insurance policy that covers the company's products and equipment, as well as the building it leases, a written disaster plan that addresses floods, fires and other events, and a "disaster account," which the company can access quickly in a catastrophe. According to the owners, running a business without these precautions is setting yourself up to fail.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency estimates that 40 percent of small businesses wouldn't reopen after a disaster. When asked about his opinion on disaster preparedness for small businesses, leading business resiliency solutions expert Steve Elliot, President and CEO of Elliot Consulting Services, Inc. (ECS) says, " A well-written disaster plan methodically outlines how you would handle both major and minor disasters that could affect your company.
